Six drivers have won a Grand Prix this season. Six rounds are left. And one 20-year-old sits 102 points clear at the top. The 2026 F1 title race is not as close as it looks on the points table, but it is one of the best business stories the sport has had in years.
Kimi Antonelli leads for Mercedes with 340 points. Behind him are five drivers from four teams, every one of them a race winner in 2026. For broadcasters, sponsors and the sport itself, that spread matters as much as who lifts the trophy.
The standings with six rounds to go
After the Singapore Grand Prix, this is the top six (Motor Sport):

With 150 points still available across the US, Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi, the maths is still open. Antonelli could clinch as early as the US Grand Prix on 25 October, though that needs a win for him and bad days for Russell and Hamilton. On current form, Mexico City is more likely. If he does it, he becomes F1's youngest-ever world champion.
Why six winners is good business
A season where one driver wins everything is easy to predict, and easy to switch off. A season with six different winners gives every fan base a reason to keep watching.
