For years, one of the biggest problems in Indian women’s football wasn’t talent. It was that hardly anyone could watch it. This season, that’s starting to change. In a matter of weeks, women’s football has gained a long-term commercial partner, a title sponsor and now a dedicated streaming partner. The question is whether visibility alone can turn into an audience.
What happened
Capri Sports has partnered with SportVot, a sports production and streaming technology company, for the live production and streaming of the 2026–27 Lxme Indian Women’s League 2 (Lxme IWL 2). The partnership aims to expand the competition’s digital reach and make matches more accessible to fans, clubs and football communities across the country. adgully
IWL 2 is the second tier of the women’s game. Organised by the All India Football Federation, it serves as a competitive pathway for clubs aspiring to reach the top division of Indian women’s football. As the production and streaming partner, SportVot will deliver live match coverage, so audiences can follow the action beyond the stadiums.
Part of a bigger build
The streaming deal is the latest piece of a fast-moving plan, and it follows a story we covered just days ago. Capri Sports holds a 15-year deal with the AIFF for the commercial and marketing rights to the IWL and IWL 2, and this week, women-focused financial platform Lxme became the title sponsor of the Indian Women’s League under a multi-year partnership. As we wrote in Women’s sports sponsorship in India: why Lxme backed the IWL, that deal was a sign that sponsorship of women’s sport in India is moving from goodwill to strategy, built on brand fit, not just reach. business-standard
The streaming partnership is the other half of that equation. A sponsor like Lxme needs people to see its name, and streaming is what makes that possible. Put the pieces together and you can see the full commercial stack taking shape:
